The most important issues facing the new government were creating a national currency and bill of rights. Hamilton made the (BUS) and Madison made a bill of rights. The Washington administartion did a good job handling the creation of these things.
umm...I kind of need help on this one. I think that some of the issues were the Federalist vs. Anti-Federalist which then turned into the Fereralist vs. Democratic Republic people. One of the issues was Hamilton's plan because this then seperated the Federalist and the Democratic Republic people even more. He also had to deal with the Whiskey Rebellion and the Neutrality Act. But, I think Washington eathier way handeled everything pretty well. I mean someone had to be President.
One of the biggest issues to face the new republic (in my opinion)was the unstable ecomomy. A Ham took care of this all pretty well with his financial plans. He got everything off to a good start.
Some of the important obstacles that the new Federal government faced were opposition/disloyalty to strong central government, need for financial stabilization, and a leader who could set precedents for future leaders to follow. Washington displayed the power of the central government by crushing the Whiskey Rebellion, which gave the American people that didn't believe in central government relief. Washington appointed Hamilton to his cabinet which created the basis for the way finances would be run(Hamilton's Financial Plan). Washington stepped into Presidency and from the moment he began his job he was already setting up precedents for future presidents.
The book talked about how everyone praised Washington on his way to office. I still think that one of Washingtons biggest goals was to unite the people and prove to the rest of the world that the country could last and that they deserved respect. They were able to prove these things early by stepping up to the plate and smashing the faces of rebels :) haha they the government created the BUS and through this created ties that would keep the citizens working towards a better government
Some of the most important issues the new federal government faced were financial, or stemmed off of discontent with financial plans enacted to improve the national debt. Basically, from all the war that went on and such America found itself in extreme debt. Alexander Hamilton came up with a financial plan to help take the U.S. out of debt and Washington and the congress approved it. Parts of this financial plan involved tariffs on trade and excise taxes. The excise tax on whiskey was especially troublesome, and caused the Whiskey Rebellion. Washington gathered a troop and crushed the rebellion, further proving the strength and power of the national government.
The biggest issue, in my opinion, was the national debt. With Hamilton's finantial plan and the support from Washington, America was eventually brought out of that huge debt. Another issue that they faced was lack of respect. After putting down the Whiskey Boys in the Whiskey Rebellion, their power was shown and respect was given.
Welp, I think that the most important issues facing the federal government was the national debt and lack of respect issues. The Washington administration addressed these issues with Hamilton's Financial Plan and putting down the Whiskey Rebellion. Hamilton's Financial Plan gave us guidlines of how we could end the national debt and another helpful idea was funding at par or paying at face value. By ending the Whiskey Rebellion, it showed that we should be respected because it showed that we were actually a powerful nation.
